What's up all you Boilermaker fans!?

I am sure some of you would like to know how the ankle is doing, so I will start with that. Well, today is Monday morning and it is extremely sore from the game yesterday. A lot of the swelling is finally starting to go down and the bruising is beginning--wow! I mean, it's amazing how many different colors a bruise can be composed of--I have colors ranging from black, blue, purple, green, and red! And today, it is just really sore--I have been wearing a boot all around for the past 3 days and today it was so hard to walk around with all the snow we got up here. But I am going to continue to get treatment on it, keep it elevated whenever I can, and ice it all day long until I feel 100%. I think I can honestly say this is the worst ankle sprain I have ever had.....

It all started at the Ohio State game--we started out so amazing and I really felt like I was in the groove--I hit my first three shots and had a couple of nice passes for some easy baskets--I felt like it was going to really be the game when everything just simply came together for me; but then, on a fast break, I pulled up for a 3 in transition (I am telling you--I was feeling it!) and I came down awkwardly on my defender's foot--I felt my ankle go all the way down to the floor and just looked to the bench and signaled for a sub. I walked it off for a while and we taped it up a little tighter and I thought, okay, let's go, I was in for a minute and I was running with a very noticable limp so I was taken out immediately. At halftime we taped her up really tight and again I thought, okay, let's go. Well, I played a little bit in the second half , but I can't even begin to describe to any of you how badly it was hurting. Thankfully, we pulled out a great win there--it was just so frustrating because I felt like this was the game to really bust out--and I get hurt--but, I guess God just wanted to make me stronger and He figured that Ohio State wasn't the game for me to really break out.....

So, my goal the next two days was to get it as healthy as possible because there was no way I was going to sit out my first collegiate game against IU--that was not an option! I did tons of treatment and watched practice both Friday and Saturday and really felt like it was getting better, but I had no idea how much pain I was going to feel in the game Sunday. But we taped it up really tight and I came out a little early to get as loose as I possibly could before warm-ups. During the game, it hurt pretty badly when I thought about it--so I tried not to think about it, until I went after a loose ball and got on the floor--well my ankle got stuck on the ground and it turned a little more, but thankfully, the Lord gave me strength to finish the game and we were able to put it on the Hoosiers!!!!

Now, we have a couple of days to get ready for Wisconsin and then our bye week which will be so good for some of us who have some little nagging injuries. So, until next time-be careful out there--the roads can be pretty bad and don't forget to cheer on the men's team tomorrow as they travel down to Bloomington!!!! GO BOILERS!!!!

See ya'll Thursday s
