Well……we made it through our first weekend of practice and I think it went pretty well. Just want to thank all the fans who came out to the breakfast, the pep rally, and practice. Things went awesome and we helped raised a good amount of money to help breast cancer research so thank you all so much!
For me, right now, I am just trying to get back into the groove of things. Having about 6 weeks off combined with just starting to run and play about 2 weeks ago has made for an interesting first week of practice. My legs feel pretty good for the first hour of practice – my shot feels good and I feel like I am moving pretty decently, but it seems after that first hour, they go on me and my shots tend to be a little short. Coach V even made a comment to me that when she watched the practice film she could see my arms just going but my legs not wanting to keep up. I think that’s just a matter of building back the endurance in them and getting the strength back so I’ll be able to make it through a 3 hour practice with no troubles.
After two practices on Saturday, we had Sunday off, but we got together to do some team building activities. We took a walk in Happy Hollow Park, shared some very intimate stories about ourselves, and helped one another define their roles on the team. I learned some new things about my teammates and coaches that are difficult to share. Overall, I thought it was awesome!
